Collab Lab brings Codex, Grok Build, and Hermes into one visible local workspace. They can hold evolving conversations, divide bounded work, inspect approved repositories, share files, and review one another without sending your credentials or chat history through a Collab Lab service.
If it made your life easier
Collab Lab is free to download and self-host. If it saved you time or made working with your agents easier, you can optionally leave a one-time tip. Tips never unlock features or change access; skipping them is fine.
No credential hosting
Each model keeps its native local CLI authentication. Collab Lab does not ask for, proxy, upload, or store provider credentials.
Organic conversation
Normal chat runs agents sequentially. Every next speaker receives the updated transcript, reducing duplicate answers and letting the discussion evolve naturally.
Scoped action
Write work combines an explicit permission with one validated repository root. Deployment remains a separate human approval.
A conversation you can actually follow
Ordinary rooms rotate the first speaker and continue one agent at a time. Council mode stays parallel-first so independent positions are preserved before critique and synthesis.

Rooms, sessions, tasks, activity, and attachments stay in SQLite and local storage on your machine. Uploaded images render through the protected local API. Safe diagnostics omit messages, prompts, environment values, token contents, and credentials.

Bounded assignments
Agents can record owners, dependencies, permission scope, deliverables, acceptance criteria, attempts, errors, and review evidence.
Failure recovery
If one worker cannot complete a sequential turn, Collab Lab records the failure and continues visibly with the next agent instead of silently stalling.
Local and remote access
Use localhost by default. Opt into LAN or Tailscale access with a long shared token when you need the workspace on another device.
